Meadowood: A senior Retirement Community in Worcester, PA

Mission Statement

We are committed to provide a continuum of residential and health services to older adults in a gracious and active setting which promotes quality of life for all who a part of the Meadowood Life Care Community.

Bringing a Mission to Life & Lifestyle

Our area was settled in the 1730s by Schwenkfelders, a progressive German sect that followed the Quakers into Pennsylvania. Their history of giving back culminated in an effort, begun in 1982, to form a non-profit Board to create a retirement community on the property of former Senator and U.S. Cabinet member Richard Schweiker. His sister Sylvia and her husband, newspaper publisher William E. Strasburg, guided development of Meadowood to its 1988 opening.

Meadowood's men and women have, since the beginning, lived and worked together to create one of the nation's finest continuing care retirement communities, where each person is respected and valued.

We have enhanced our beautiful "green" campus with a new Health & Wellness Center, West Hill carriage homes, and indoor pool, as we continue into the third decade of dedication to our residents' independence, life enrichment and quality choices.
