Meadowood Welcomes New Fitness & Wellness Director

Meadowood welcomes Becky Anhorn, new Fitness and Wellness Director for the community. Becky is an undergraduate of Chestnut Hill College and received her Master’s Degree at Widener University in 2008. Prior to working at Meadowood, Becky spent most of her career at a private school for young adults with disabilities. She worked as a recreational therapist, crisis manager and eventually the Director of Residential Services managing on and off campus residential, community and recreational programming for over 150 students.  During this time, she also worked in a clinical capacity as […]

Late Meadowood Resident Honored at Philadelphia Veteran’s Parade

Former Meadowood resident, SSgt Norbert J. McGettigan, Sr. was the honoree veteran of the year at the veteran’s parade in Philadelphia. A beautiful evergreen wreath, with flags from every branch of service was presented to Norbert’s family in his honor and memory. Norbert served in the US Army from 1944-1947 during the World War II European Theatre 106th & 69th Infantry Divisions. Meadowood Senior Living Breaks Ground on $30M Expansion

WORCESTER, Pa. – On Monday, September 24, Meadowood Senior Living broke ground on The Grove, a $30 million expansion project. Meadowood Announces “The Grove”

Meadowood Senior Living announces the expansion project, The Grove, which will break ground in the fall of 2018. The Grove will consist of 52 new residences, ranging in size from 1,400 to 1,800 square feet. The new, spacious residences will feature large, open floor plans with ground floor indoor parking. Each residence will be a “corner view” with large windows overlooking a beautifully landscaped courtyard or one of many tree-lined views. A Tribute to William E. Strasburg Meadowood regrets to announce our founder, William E. Strasburg, passed away on October 27, 2017 at Meadowood Senor Living. He was surrounded by his loving family, including his wife, Sylvia Strasburg, who resides at Meadowood. William (Bill) Strasburg envisioned and founded Meadowood Senior Living in the early 1980’s, however, that is only one of many achievements in his lifetime. Meadowood hosts Schuykill River Restoration Fund

On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, Meadowood Senior Living hosted the Schuylkill River Restoration Fund press event to announce the 2017 grant recipients. Meadowood was proud to receive a $58,000 grant in 2012, funded by Exelon, Philadelphia Water Department, and the Schuylkill Action Network, to naturalize a storm water basin and install three rain gardens. Paul Felton – Meadowood’s Forester

If you visit Meadowood’s 131 acre campus, you will most likely see a man pushing a wheelbarrow, examining a tree, or sitting on a tree stump on one of the wooded trails taking notes. This man is our own Paul Felton! Paul recently received the Cliff Jones Keystone Legacy Award from the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation.
