14th Annual Juried Art Show at Meadowood Celebrates Creativity, Community and Connection

Meadowood welcomed residents, artists, guests and friends to its 14th Annual Juried Art Show, a cherished tradition that celebrates artistic talent, community spirit and the power of creative expression. Since 2009, Meadowood has proudly invited artists from the greater community to share their vision and creativity, creating an annual event that continues to grow in both quality and enthusiasm.

This year’s show welcomed more than 500 visitors to the Strasburg Auditorium, where guests enjoyed an inspiring collection of paintings, sculpture, photography and mixed media. The exhibition featured talented artists from across the Greater Philadelphia region, alongside creative contributions from Meadowood residents and staff.

The response from artists, guests and attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many describing this year’s event as the “Best show ever!” Organizers also noted that the introduction of online registration was a true game changer, streamlining the process for artists and making participation more accessible and efficient than ever before.

This year, the show received 314 entries from 169 artists. Of those entries, 83 were juried out, reflecting the high level of competition and the thoughtful selection process behind the exhibition. In total, 80 pieces were sold, including 32 juried entry pieces and 48 portfolio pieces,  a meaningful testament to both the quality of the artwork and the enthusiasm of collectors and visitors.

“What makes this art show so meaningful each year is the quiet strength of teamwork, and our shared belief in the balance of the three-legged stool,” said Patty. “Our dedicated staff, passionate committee, and the many guests who return each year all play an essential role. With sincere gratitude, it is the coming together of each of you that creates something truly special.”

A highlight of this year’s show was featured artist Myhanh T. Bossé, an accomplished watercolorist whose realistic style reflects precision, luminous color and emotional depth. Born in Saigon, Vietnam, Bossé built a career in medicine while also pursuing her passion for art, studying at Bucks County Community College. A signature member of several watercolor societies, she has earned frequent “Best in Show” honors and has previously received First Place in Watercolor and Second Prize at Meadowood.

This year’s entries were evaluated by accomplished jurors Nathan Durnin and Theresa DeSeve. Durnin is a Philadelphia-based artist and educator whose work explores landscape, figures and abstraction through light, color and paint. DeSeve is an award-winning artist, BFA graduate of Rosemont College and signature member of The Pastel Society of America and the Philadelphia Watercolor Society. Together, they brought deep experience and a thoughtful eye to the selection process.

Among the many memorable stories from this year’s exhibition was the participation of a father and daughter who both entered the show, and were both juried in. Their shared achievement added a personal and heartwarming dimension to the event, underscoring how art can connect generations and create lasting family memories.

Artist, Bill Bourne and his daughter artist, Catherine Bourne. Bill will celebrate his 101st birthday this fall.

Meadowood extends sincere appreciation to every artist who participated, as well as to the local art leagues whose continued support has helped the show flourish over the years. The event is also made possible by the enthusiasm and dedication of more than 100 Meadowood resident volunteers, who generously share their time and love of the arts each year.

From the strength of the entries to the energy of the visitors, the 14th Annual Juried Art Show reflected the creativity, collaboration and community connection that have made this annual tradition so meaningful. With strong participation, impressive art sales and heartfelt praise from guests and artists alike, this year’s show was a beautiful reminder of Meadowood’s ongoing commitment to celebrating the arts and bringing people together through shared experiences.
