Meadowood Announces Tom Hecker as Next President and CEO

New leader to begin November 2 as longtime President and CEO Paul Nordeman prepares for retirement after nearly 20 years of service

LANSDALE, PA — September 24, 2026 — Meadowood, a nonprofit Life Plan Community, has named Tom Hecker as its next President and Chief Executive Officer, effective November 2, 2026, succeeding longtime President and CEO Paul Nordeman, who will retire following nearly 20 years of leadership and service to the Meadowood community.

Hecker was selected by Meadowood’s Succession Planning Committee with Board of Directors approval following a comprehensive national search. They sought a leader with demonstrated executive experience, strategic vision and a strong appreciation for the mission, values and culture that have long defined Meadowood.

Hecker brings extensive healthcare leadership and administrative experience to the role. He currently serves as Vice President for Administration and Chief of Staff at Penn Medicine Health Systems, supporting executive leadership across clinical and administrative operations. He previously held leadership roles at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Temple University, bringing both a healthcare and human-centered perspective to his leadership.

“Tom brings the experience, leadership and perspective that will help guide Meadowood into its next chapter while honoring the strong foundation that has been built over many years,” said Bruce McKenney, Chair of Meadowood’s Board of Directors. “We are excited to welcome him to Meadowood and confident in his ability to lead the organization with purpose, integrity and a deep commitment to those we serve.”

Hecker will officially begin his role on November 2, providing an opportunity for a thoughtful leadership transition as Nordeman prepares to conclude a remarkable tenure at Meadowood.

Honoring Paul Nordeman’s Legacy

Nordeman has served as Meadowood’s President and CEO for nearly two decades, a period marked by significant growth, campus improvements and expanded services for residents.

Throughout his tenure, Nordeman has helped strengthen Meadowood’s culture, guided the organization through periods of change and growth, and remained focused on ensuring Meadowood continues to be a vibrant, welcoming community where residents can live with purpose and connection.

“Paul’s impact on Meadowood cannot be measured simply by the number of years he has served,” McKenney said. “His leadership has shaped the organization we know today. His commitment to residents, employees and the future of Meadowood has created a legacy that will continue well beyond his retirement.”

“It has been an extraordinary privilege to serve Meadowood and to be part of a community that means so much to so many people,” Nordeman said. “I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together and grateful for the residents, employees, Board members and families who have made my time at Meadowood so meaningful. I look forward to welcoming Tom and supporting him as Meadowood begins this exciting next chapter.”

Meadowood will celebrate Nordeman’s contributions and his years of service with residents, employees and friends of the organization in the months leading up to his retirement.

Looking Ahead

As President and CEO, Hecker will lead Meadowood as the organization continues to invest in its campus, programs and services while planning for the evolving needs and expectations of current and future residents.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to join Meadowood and build upon the strong foundation established by Paul and the entire Meadowood team,” Hecker said. “What immediately stood out to me was the strength of the community and the commitment of its residents, employees and leadership. I look forward to listening, learning and working alongside them as we shape Meadowood’s future together.”
